The light from laser marking machine will be diffuse reflected (near total reflection) on the surface of the ceramics. It means ceramic hardly absorb laser light, then it will be hard to mark on ceramics, not to mention marking colored tokens.

Light from laser marking machine focuses on the surface of the coating, then the high-energy laser beam will be interact with the glazed ceramic. When the temperature reached 800°C, the color ceramic toner will penetrate into the ceramic glaze forming a color mark.
